A birthday to remember

It was my 21st birthday two days ago, and after all the haze and craziness of that day, I’m finally able to blog about it.

The day started off with a class presentation where my group and I presented our Aperture Science flash website.

I was one of the programmers and basically started the building of certain features and worked on some bug fixes.  We ended up doing really well on the project so I’m happy about that.

Then I went out for lunch with the boyfriend at Tucker’s Marketplace since people eat free on their birthday.  It’s probably the only buffet/all-you-can-eat place I’d actually willingly go to.

Back at home, I discovered my brother got me a brand new Kitchen Aid stand mixer which was such a huge surprise.  I am ridiculously happy to have it, especially since my hand mixer committed suicide in March.

Then at night I headed out to Scotiabank Place to watch Game 3 of the Sens/Rangers series.

This was the second NHL playoff game I’ve been to, and the atmosphere, as always, was amazing.  There’s just something so special about being in a crowd of 20 000 fans with everyone yelling and chanting.  I absolutely loved being a part of the Alfie chants that occur at the 11 minute mark of every period.  That man is just…amazing.

It was a really hard-fought game, and unfortunately the Sens were on the losing end of a 1-0 game.  It was honestly a battle of the goalies as Anderson saved the Sens’ asses numerous times, and Lundqvist stopped everything the Sens threw at him.

Despite the loss, it was a really great 21st birthday.
