From August 2007 – August 2008 I lived in a city in southern Spain called Cartagena. I spent a few days back in the city when I was visiting my parents, so I thought I’d show some pictures of where I used to live.
The best place, in my opinion, to hang out in Cartagena is its port. It’s sunny most of the time in Cartagena, so you get a fantastic view of the water that just looks really, really blue. There are a bunch of cafés/eateries along the port too, so it’s easily a place you can spend a lot of time in.
This submarine on display is the “first” submarine. I’m not sure what it’s a first of (ie: first submarine EVER or first for the Spanish or what have you), but I know it’s some kind of first. I thought it made for a good Where Have You Seen Android? picture.
Near the port is an old Roman Theatre. Back when I lived in Cartagena it wasn’t open to the public, but when I came back it was. I decided to take a look at it. It’s pretty neat seeing this smack-dab in the middle of a bunch of apartment buildings. I’m not really sure what the historical significance of Cartagena is, but I guess it was big enough to have a theatre back then.
