One of the things I wanted to do during Reading Week was do more typography pieces. Of course that didn’t happen because no one ever actually does anything worthwhile during this week off (thus why I complete HATE the fact Carleton has a Fall Reading Week now >.< ).
That being said, with today being the last day of Reading Week, suddenly inspiration came to me to make this:
The line comes from the Yellowcard song “Surface of the Sun.” This song comes from their latest album Southern Air, which I talked about in one of my last blog posts.
Originally I wanted to do a typography piece using a line from “Rivertown Blues,” but I was listening to “Surface of the Sun” today and this idea just popped into my head. It’s a really simple piece, but it’s nice to get a concept/idea out in real life before it disappears, no matter how simple or easy the concept is.
The sun vector came from here and the font is Amatic.
